BioXtra Mild Toothpaste

Contains fluoride but not sodium lauryl sulphate (SLS), therefore the toothpaste does not foam which is necessary to avoid oral ulcers. As the toothpaste does not foam, there is often little need to rinse the mouth. A pea sized amount on the brush is all that is required - or just a scraping if treating a child or a patient that cannot swallow. Clean the teeth and mouth in the usual way - and just rinse out the brush. Especially good for palliative or stroke patients who may be incapable of brushing their own teeth. It will be easier to recognise other oral conditions such as bleeding gums, as there is no foam to limit the view. The paste will dissipate evenly around the mouth. This is important because the residue of the paste facilitates an on-going antimicrobial function on and around the teeth, just like normal saliva.
