Works instantly to relieve the symptoms of mouth dryness. Very long lasting 2 - 5 hours during the day and up to 8 hours at night. Neutral taste - not sweet. Not too sticky - good viscosity. Good for the lips too - instead of petroleum jelly. Effective night time relief. If a patient wears dentures, apply the gel to the gums and then apply the plate, this will keep the gel in position and keep the teeth in too. The more that is applied the longer it will last. Apply it by finger, swab, brush or straight on to the tip of the tongue if the patient can manipulate their tongue around their mouth normally. Particularly effective for patients on high pressure oxygen. No ill effects if the gel is aspirated.
